If you have a Mental Health Care Plan referral to see me from your GP or psychiatrist, Medicare will subsidise up to 10 sessions per calendar year with an amount starting from $96.65.

You will receive the lower rebate until you reach your Medicare Safety Net. For more information on the Safety Net click here.

Reduced fees:

In some circumstances I offer a reduced fee to clients who are experiencing ongoing financial difficulties. Please initially discuss this with our intake team before you make an appointment, and you will be advised if this is possible. Unless an arrangement is made with me for a reduced fee, you are responsible for paying the standard consultation fee on the day of the appointment.

Diagnostic Assessments and Report:

ASD Assessments:

ASD assessment is divided into three blocks: 1 hour (a valid Mental Health Care Plan can be used for this session, with a rebate of $96.65), 2 hours and 2 hours, scheduled over three consecutive weeks.

This includes 5 hours of symptom screening, cognitive and neuropsychological assessments, structured diagnostic interviews, differential diagnosis, and a comprehensive diagnostic report.

The diagnostic report will be available approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the final appointment.

The fee for the total assessment including the report is $2,430 and full payment is required at the time of booking.

ADHD Assessments:

ADHD assessment is divided into two blocks: 1 hour (a valid Mental Health Care Plan can be used for this session, with a rebate of $96.65) and 2 hours, scheduled over two consecutive weeks.

This includes 3 hours of symptom screening, cognitive and neuropsychological assessments, structured diagnostic interviews, differential diagnosis, and a comprehensive diagnostic report.

The diagnostic report will be available approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the final appointment.

The fee for the total assessment including the report is $1,350 and full payment is required at the time of booking.

If you are seeking an assessment for both ADHD & ASD then this can be completed in the first package listed under ASD Assessments.

I am also available for ongoing ADHD & ASD management and treatment.

* Please note that while it can be beneficial for adults to undergo an ADHD assessment with a Psychologist/Neuropsychologist, it’s important to note that if someone intends to pursue a prescription for ADHD medication, they would need to complete an assessment with a Psychiatrist.

Please note: The initial 1 hour session can be completed via video if required, but the remaining assessment blocks require to be attended in person.

Non Attended Session Fees:

I require 2 full working days (Monday-Friday only) notice should you need to cancel or re-schedule your appointment. You must do this by telephone.

– If you give us 2 or more business days’ notice: no fee

– Less than 2 business days: full consultation fee

Out of courtesy to our professional relationship, I request that you provide at least 7 days notice to cancel an appointment as I have limited appointments available.

  • Monday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Hello, my name is Yixia,

“Am I too much or never enough?”

“How can I stop worrying about everything?”

“I am high achieving, but I don’t feel happy or content.”

“I either hyper focus, or my mind is running miles away in seconds.”

“I procrastinate about everything. Am I just lazy?”

“Why do I feel so overwhelmed in social situations?”

Hi there. I am so proud that you are here, taking that very first yet the most important step to look after yourself by seeking professional mental health support.

Who am I? I am a psychologist fully registered with Australia Health Practitioners Regulatory Agency (AHPRA). Originally from China, I pursued my psychology education in the Netherlands, and underwent further clinical training in the USA, Belgium, and Australia. My international background enriches my practice. I have worked closely with individuals suffering from a wide range of mental health problems in both public and private healthcare settings. Beyond clinical practice, I’ve contributed to academia by teaching undergraduate psychology courses, presenting research at international conferences, and being involved in multiple publications in peer-reviewed international journals and one book chapter.

My Expertise: Over the years, I’ve developed a particular interest in working with trauma (e.g., physical, sexual, or emotional abuse) and its complex form (multiple traumatic events often of an invasive and interpersonal nature with long-term impact of the exposure). The clinical manifestations of the impact of trauma and complex trauma can include but not exclusively to chronic depression, anxiety, stress, somatic symptoms, anhedonia, guilt & shame, low self-esteem, relationship issues and social isolation. These are the presentations I work with quite often in my clinical work.

Driven by a passion to make a tangible difference in the lives of underserved and often misunderstood populations, I’ve developed expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and providing ongoing treatment for neurodivergent conditions, especially ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and ASD (autism spectrum disorder).

My Approach: I take an integrative approach to tailor treatment to each individual’s needs. My therapeutic work is guided is by evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy (ST), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), for all of which I received formal and intensive training. I integrate techniques from these modalities when necessary and appropriate, depending on your presentation, needs and progress of our treatment.

What Can You Expect from Our Sessions: Therapy with me involves: 1) Identifying the presenting issues and the associated maladaptive response patterns (i.e., thinking, behavioural, emotional patterns) via semi-structured clinical interviews and assessments. We basically identify what is bothering you; 2) Navigating the root causes of your concerns, the cost, and benefits of your response patterns. We collaboratively conduct case formulation. In non-complex cases, symptom reduction may already occur in this stage; and 3) Introducing, applying, and practising adaptive strategies towards a meaningful and fulfilling life in ways that matter to you. We start doing things differently.

Our initial meeting frequency is typical set at once every fortnight. As we progress, this frequency will be adapted to align with our ongoing process and evolving needs. I am committed to creating and holding a safe space for you, where all thoughts and feelings can be expressed without fear of being dismissed, judged, or abandoned. Together, we will review these as valuable data from your life to guide your mental health journey. I am dedicated to drawing on your strengths and resources. At times, I may adopt a confrontational approach, when my clinical judgment tells me it’s necessary for achieving your goals. I treat you with respect, regardless of your gender, age, race, sexuality, or place on the neurodiversity spectrum. I uphold transparency as a core value in my professional activities.

Therapeutic Outcome: By engaging in our sessions, you will experience the release of all the pain and locked emotions that have held you back. Throughout our sessions, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, break free from past constraints or trauma, and confidently step forward into a more fulfilling life. Committed to holistic and lifelong care, I tend to foster and maintain medium- to long-term relationships with those seeking my support and guidance, facilitating the delivery of personalised and high-quality care. If and when our partnership isn’t the ideal fit for your needs, I am also committed to helping you find a professional who can ensure your continued progress.
