Hello, I’m Noirin van de Berg,

I am a psychologist with experience in both private and hospital settings.
I work with adults presenting with a wide range of psychological concerns. While clients may come to therapy for very different reasons, I aim to understand each person’s unique, individual psychology, and how they’ve learnt to make sense of themselves in the world.

My work often focuses on several key areas that support psychological health and long-term wellbeing. These include strengthening self-efficacy and autonomy, cultivating realistic and reliable self-esteem, supporting resilience and psychological flexibility, encouraging self-reflection and insight, and exploring identity and self-definition. A central theme in my work is safety in relationships, including the development of a sense of attachment security.

I have a particular interest in working with clients who experience feelings of emptiness, numbness, or disconnection, and in supporting reconnection through curiosity, emotional engagement, and a renewed sense of vitality. I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, collaborative, and respectful, where difficult experiences can be explored at a pace that feels manageable.

I believe that therapy is not always about change. At times, it involves accepting aspects of oneself or one’s life that cannot be altered, learning to tolerate grief and loss, and opening space for compassion, meaning, and gratitude.

My approach is person-centred and integrative, drawing primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including mindfulness), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Schema Therapy. Where helpful, I also include elements of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Across all my work, I view therapy as a collaborative process that attends to immediate concerns while also supporting deeper emotional, relational, and existential development over time.
