Reduced fees:

In some circumstances I may offer a reduced fee to clients who are experiencing ongoing financial difficulties. Unless an arrangement is made with me for a reduced fee, you are responsible for paying the standard consultation fee on the day of the appointment.

Hello, my name is Tom Joffe

I’m a psychologist who works with adolescents aged 16+ and adults navigating life’s emotional ups and downs—whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, facing mental health challenges like anxiety or depression, or simply wanting to better understand yourself and improve your wellbeing.

Many of the people I work with are looking to make sense of their experiences, break free from unhelpful patterns, and move towards more fulfilling relationships and ways of living. I offer a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and work toward meaningful change.

My approach is collaborative and respectful—while I bring expertise in psychological theory and evidence-based therapy, I see you as the expert in your own life. Together, we’ll combine our perspectives to tailor our work to your goals, preferences, and strengths.

I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches. This eclectic framework means we can be flexible and responsive to what’s most helpful for you.

I work with adults of all backgrounds and identities, and strive to create an inclusive space where you feel seen and understood. I have particular experience working with clients exploring identity, including those from LGBTQIA+ communities, as well as those navigating issues of self-worth, trauma, or difficult relationship dynamics.

Some of the areas I commonly support clients with include:

– Anxiety, stress, and overthinking

– Low mood, depression, and lack of motivation

– Trauma and complex life experiences

– Relationship and interpersonal difficulties

– Low self-esteem and self-confidence

– Identity and belonging, including LGBTQIA+ experiences

Whether you’re new to therapy or returning to it, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you take the next steps towards insight, growth, and lasting change.

I offer in-person sessions in East Melbourne and Mill Park, as well as telehealth sessions for clients across Australia.

I look forward to working with you.
